V. Brief Report
| |
Drishtee has enabled the formations of Kiosks in almost 11 states of India. These Kiosks are not simply computer centers but information - kendras managed by future change agents of the village. Such is the potential of these Information and Communication technology.(ICT) that Drishtee has fervently been visualizing and facilitating from the past 7 years now. |
| |
|
| |
About Kiosks |
| |
Kiosks are Centers which are manned by an aspiring villager and is equipped with computers, printers, and a camera to take up computer courses like Diploma in Cyber Gateway Programme, Wizard, Course in Computer Accountancy and others, conduct English speaking Classes, and also sell products of use to the villagers like Philips torch and lamps, seeds and fertilizers, reading glasses, and others. These are but a few of the things that the entrepreneur can do from his/her center. |
| |
|
| |
Why women |
| |
Women are the focus of all development issues and programs. So Drishtee being in the same milieu, is only responding to it naturally by making 'woman' as its primary beneficiary and hence the primary entrepreneur.
Drishtee is actively promoting women to become entrepreneur, with the realization that they will need full support and cooperation from their men folk. Hence men, be it in the role of a husband, brother, father or even son are welcome to work with the women entrepreneur and are called as operating partners. |
| |
|
| |
